Novelty ~ Beaded Kusudama I
According to Wikipedia, a kusudama is "a paper model that is usually created by sewing multiple identical pyramidal units together, using underlying geometric principles of polyhedra, to form a spherical shape". This particular kusudama is made of beads sewn into flat strips of peyote stitched together to form a unique sphere.
My piece was inspired by a metal sculpture created by Vladimir Bulatov. If you would like to watch a video about this talented mathemetician artist and see more his fantastic sculptures, click this link, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esVWqPbWhxM.
